The most attractive feature of the inflatable kayaks is the fact that they are so easy to transport to any location. They are not very heavy weighing an average of thirty to forty pounds. They can be folded and placed in a backpack making it easy to carry them to your destination whether you are going to a secluded lake or hiking up a mountain trail. After you reach your destination it only takes a few minutes to inflate the kayak and be ready for your exciting adventure. A simple foot pump will work just fine for pumping up the kayak.
Another great thing about inflatable kayaks is that they are durable and will last for many years when cared for properly. They will not burst or rip easily. Inflatable kayaks are made from strong rubber that resists scratches and punctures. It would take something extreme to put a hole in one of these kayaks. However, most of them are designed with three chambers in the event a puncture did occur and you can carry a patch kit with you just in case of an emergency. Don’t let the fact that these kayaks are filled with air fool you, they are not a toy. They are very stable in the water and are even easier to get back into if you happen to fall out of one.
